Calle Imperial

Calle Imperial is often overlooked but it’s a hidden gem for photo enthusiasts. The narrow street is lined with colorful buildings that exude a distinct colonial charm. One of the most eye-catching features of Calle Imperial is the Puerto Rican flag mural painted on one of the doors at the end of the street. Escalinata De Monjas

Escalinata De Monjas is a stunning staircase located between Calle Norzagaray and Calle Tetuan. The staircase is made up of 49 steps that lead up to the Convento de los Dominicos, a former convent that’s now a museum. The steps are flanked by beautifully restored colonial buildings that add to the charm of the area.

La Casa Estretcha

La Casa Estretcha also known as The Narrow House is a unique architectural landmark in Old San Juan. As its name suggests, the house is one of the narrowest in the world, measuring only five feet wide. Located on Calle Sol, La Casa Estretcha is a colorful house that stands out among the other buildings in the area. You can capture a photo of yourself standing in front of the house or take a shot of the house itself from different angles.

The history behind La Casa Estretcha adds to its charm and allure. Legend has it that the house was built in the 19th century as a way for a father to settle a dispute between his two sons. The narrow house was meant to be shared between the two brothers, with one living on the first floor and the other on the second!
